Fire breaks out at Banani high rise

A fire broke out at a high-rise building in the capital’s Banani area on Wednesday evening.

The fire originated on the top floor of the 11-storey building near Kacha Bazar on Road No. 12 of the area around 6:30pm, said Warehouse Inspector Anwarul Islam of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD) headquarters media cell, reports UNB.

On information, five firefighting units rushed to the spot and they were working to bring the blaze under control, he said.
