Dr. Khandakar pledges cheating-free SSC exams

Dr. Khandakar Maruf Hossain, a member of BNP’s National Executive Committee and a Supreme Court lawyer, pledges that the upcoming SSC and equivalent examinations will be conducted in a fully cheating-free, transparent, and disciplined environment.

He also announced plans to install CCTV cameras at exam centers to strengthen monitoring and accountability.

The announcement came on Wednesday during a farewell ceremony, prayer, and milad for SSC candidates at Daudkandi Adarsha Pilot High School. Teachers, students, guardians, local dignitaries, and journalists from both print and electronic media attended the event.

Dr. Maruf emphasized that several initiatives have been taken to improve education quality and ensure a student-friendly environment.

He recalled that during BNP’s 2001-2006 government tenure, strict measures were implemented to curb cheating in public examinations, setting a positive precedent. He added that, under the guidance of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, steps are being taken to eliminate corruption and disorder in the education sector while raising academic standards.

Initiatives include increasing the education budget to 5 per cent of GDP, reviewing the national curriculum, implementing the “One Teacher, One Tablet” program, modernizing teacher training, and introducing an item-bank-based assessment system.

Dr. Maruf also highlighted the focus on developing skilled human resources through technical education, establishing agricultural universities in all divisions, and providing special support for higher education research. Plans are in place to gradually reduce dependence on private coaching centers and provide educational loans and assistance to meritorious students.
He stressed that national development depends on education and that there is no substitute for quality learning in producing competent and skilled citizens.
The event was presided over by the school’s governing body president, Md. Abdus Sattar, with Headmaster Md. Jasim Uddin, guardian member Md. Billal Miazi, education enthusiasts Nur Mohammad Selim Sarkar, Kausar Alam Sarkar, Kamal Hossain, Sharif Chowdhury, Md. Roman Khandakar, as well as teachers, students, and guardians in attendance. Local and national media outlets covered the ceremony.
Addressing the SSC candidates, Dr. Maruf urged them to prepare diligently, emphasizing that consistent effort is key to achieving good results and becoming capable, educated citizens ready to take on national responsibilities.
