13 countries warn Bangladeshis about fake visa docs
Thirteen Western countries have jointly warned Bangladeshi citizens about the risks of using false documents, unlicensed agents, or making unauthorised payments when applying for visas.
The countries issuing the warning are Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
The information was shared through the social media accounts of their respective high commissions and embassies in Bangladesh.
In a joint statement, the missions urged applicants to follow official procedures when seeking visas, permits, or other consular services.
They cautioned against using falsified documents, unreliable or unlicensed agents, or making payments to unauthorised individuals or organisations.
“Such actions can cause delays, financial loss, refusal at borders, and serious legal consequences,” the statement said. The missions also clarified that they have no affiliation with any agents and strongly advised applicants not to rely on intermediaries claiming special access or influence over visa decisions.
“Always use verified information and official channels provided by legitimate authorities. Our shared priority is to ensure a safe, fair, and transparent application process for everyone,” the statement added.
