World Health Day 2026 observed

World Health Day 2026 was observed with due dignity and awareness programs in Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila on Tuesday at 11:00 AM.

The day was marked through an initiative of the Sadar Upazila Health Complex, in collaboration with BRAC.

A colorful rally began from the premises of the Sadar Upazila Health Complex, paraded through the main roads of the town, and concluded at the same venue.

Following the rally, a discussion meeting was held in the conference room of the Health Complex.

The meeting was presided over by the Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, Dr. Barnali Das, who also presented the keynote speech.

In her address, she highlighted the progress of modern medical science and outlined necessary steps to ensure public health protection.

She elaborated on contemporary treatment methods, particularly PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy.

“We are now providing advanced medical services such as PRP therapy, which is prepared from the patient’s own blood.

In many cases where chronic pain does not respond to conventional treatment, this method has proven to be highly effective,” she said.

The program was moderated by CHCP Jewel Ahmed. Among the speakers were Dr. Shuvo Tubar Singh, Medical Officer of the Health Complex; Dr. Namita Roy Chowdhury; journalist Nazrul Islam Muhib; Md. Masud Alam, BRAC manager; Sanjita Rani Nath, Health Officer; BRAC Field Organizer Antar Mia; CHCP Nasir Khan; Health Inspector Pranati Trevedi; and Statistician Afsa Khatun.

Doctors, nurses, and local dignitaries were also present. Speakers offered various recommendations to improve healthcare services and encouraged the public to adopt science-based treatment.

This year’s theme of World Health Day was “Science in Healthcare, Protecting All Lives.”

With this commitment, Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila Health Complex reaffirmed its pledge to deliver modern and quality healthcare services to the doorstep of the people.
