‘The Odyssey’ crosses $1b

Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ has taken the box office by storm, crossing the $1 billion mark. The film, based on the epic poem by Greek poet Homer, was released on July 17.

In just three weeks, The Odyssey has grossed over $1 billion, grossing $429.65 million in North America and $578.8 million internationally.

This is Nolan’s first film to cross the $1 billion mark since 2012’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises.’

‘The Odyssey’ is set to break all of Nolan’s previous records and become the highest-grossing film of his career in a short period of time, surpassing ‘The Dark Knight’ and ‘The Dark Knight Rises.’

‘The Odyssey’ has yet to be released in China, one of Hollywood’s biggest markets. It will be released in thousands of theaters in China, including about 800 IMAX screens, on August 14.

This is expected to significantly increase the film’s revenue. In the story of ‘The Odyssey’, King Odysseus sets out on a long sea voyage to return to his kingdom Ithaca after winning the Trojan War.
