The Bengali celebration of Pahela Boishakh is further enhanced by the song ‘Bajere Baje Dhol Aar Dhak’, one of the most popular of which is ‘Bajere Baje Dhol Aar Dhak’. 18 years ago on April 7, this song sung by singer Sonia, who emerged from the ‘Close up 1- Tomakei Khujchhe Bangladesh’ competition, gained immense popularity among the audience.

Its popularity has not waned yet. Whenever Pahela Boishakh comes, the song returns with a new, fresh spirit, and the song is passed around from mouth to mouth. ‘Bajere Baje Dhol Aar Dhak’ is played at big events.

Gaanchill, one of the country’s leading song production companies, has taken the initiative to present this song to this generation of viewers in a new and fresh way on this year’s Pahela Boishakh.

The original composer and music director of the song, Shouquat Ali Imon, is involved in the new music arrangement this time too.

Shouquat Ali Imon said that this newly created version will feature modern sound, new voices and timely presentation of video images.

He said, “There is no need to say again how much the song ‘Bajere Baje Dhol Aar Dhak’ is loved by the audience. The song is equally popular among Bengalis living abroad across the country.

Wherever I have gone in the world, I have received special love for this song. The idea of a new music arrangement is to bring the song closer to the new generation. We have tried to present it in a modern sound while retaining the original atmosphere. I hope that the younger generation of listeners will also make the song their own.”

The new version of the song has been sung by Shouquat Ali Imon himself and reality show Channel i’s best singers Zanita Ahmed Zhilik, Luipa, Atiya Anisha and ‘Power Voice’ famed singer Zakiya Sultana Kornia. The lyrics of the song have been written by Kabir Bakul. The video of the song has already been shot at 300 feet in the capital. It was produced by Chandan Roy Chowdhury.

The song will be released on Gaanchill’s YouTube channel on April 9.

In this regard, Asif Iqbal said, “The song is very much associated with our Pahela Boishakh.

That is why we have taken the initiative to release the song on Gaanchill in a new arrangement. I hope the song will reach the new generation of Gen-Z viewers in a new way.”
