3 dead as bus tire bursts in Sirajganj

Three people, including the driver and helper, were killed after a bus tire burst and the vehicle crashed into an island divider and an overpass in Sirajganj. At least 15 others were injured in the incident.

The accident occurred on Friday in the Nalka area on the western side of the Jamuna Bridge.

The identities of the deceased could not be immediately confirmed.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Jamuna Bridge West Police Station, Amirul Islam, said that a passenger bus of Bushra Paribahan traveling from Bogura to Mymensingh suffered a sudden tire burst upon reaching the spot. The driver lost control, causing the bus to crash between the road divider (island) and the overpass, where it became stuck.

The driver and helper died on the spot, while another person died on the way to the hospital.
He further added that at least 15 injured passengers were rescued and admitted to different hospitals. Authorities are currently working to recover the damaged bus.
