Autopsy reveals: Rahul knew how to swim, but sand was found in his stomach
The autopsy of late actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee has been completed.
Initial reports from the autopsy revealed that a large amount of sand and salt water was found in the actor’s stomach.
It is believed that this sand and water entered his body due to the pressure of deep water and sandstorms while he was drowning in the sea.
The tragic accident occurred during the shooting at Talsari in Digha on Sunday. Rahul’s personal driver said that the actor knew how to swim.
But he might have become nervous in the sudden situation or he could not get out of the water due to the depth.
Several workers of the unit risked their lives to jump into the sea to save him, but they were not saved.
The driver alleged that there was no emergency medical facility at the shooting spot, which might have been different if the situation had been there.
Meanwhile, thousands of people thronged Tamluk Hospital on Monday morning to pay their last respects to Rahul.
Along with the general public, personalities from the political arena also paid their respects to him.
After the formalities at the hospital, his colleagues and relatives left for Kolkata with the body.
Theatre activist Joyraj Bhattacharya said that Rahul’s body was kept at Bhola Basu Bhaban, adjacent to his residence in Vijaygarh, Kolkata.
There, his long-time colleagues, fans and well-wishers were able to pay their last respects.
The body of this popular actor reached Kolkata yesterday afternoon.
The artists and crew of Tolipara are unable to accept such a farewell to their beloved actor.
