It was not possible to turn down producer’s offer: Mariya Shanto
Mariya Hossain Shanto is an actress of new generation. She made her film debut in Eid with movie ‘Pressure Cooker.’
While asking the actress about how was her experiences to work in the movie, Mariya Shanto told this correspondent, “Honestly, it’s difficult to express the feeling in words. It was my first film, so naturally I was a little nervous.
But when I saw the audience accepting the film and talking about my character, I felt very happy.
I felt like my hard work had paid off. The joy of watching a film with the audience for the first time was different. I got the opportunity to know their direct reaction.
After watching the trailer, many thought that I might be in the film for a short time.
But when I came to the hall, the audience corrected that mistake. I’m also satisfied with the character I played.”
“I never thought of acting in films. So, I don’t claim that I cherished the dream of becoming a big screen actress.
Suddenly, I got an offer to act in a film from director Raihan Rafi Bhai. It was impossible to turn down an offer from a director I really like.
Apart from that, the story of ‘Pressure Cooker’ is also great, and the characters have depth. So, I was forced to think anew about acting in films.
I don’t really ask for much in terms of acting except for a good story and character.
I want a story that will make people think at least a little bit, and the characters will have the shadow of people they know,” she also said.
While asking Mariya about her personal dreams or goals, she replied by this way, “Of course.
I want to be a good actress. Not just for popularity, but for people to know me for my acting.
Another dream is to go abroad to study acting. Along with that, I want to do something for the society, especially for those who live a hard life on the streets.
I have a dream of doing something for them. To me, success means constantly improving myself.
If I can do a little better than before in every task, that is success.
When the audience says, ‘I want to see you do better’ – that is my biggest achievement.’”
