US Embassy Warns Visa misuse can lead to permanent ban

The US Embassy in Dhaka has said that misuse of visas may result in a permanent ban on travel to the United States, making it clear that a US visa does not guarantee entry into the country.

In a message issued on Saturday, the embassy said a US visa does not ensure travel to the United States, noting that the duration and conditions of stay are determined by the immigration officer in charge at the port of entry, reports media.

The embassy said if a person stays in the United States beyond the permitted period or engages in activities not authorized under the visa category, a permanent ban on future travel to the United States may be imposed.

It added that proper use of the visa is the traveler’s responsibility.
