Nat’l Moon Sighting Committee meeting today

The National Moon Sighting Committee will hold a meeting on Thursday, to review information on the sighting of the Shawwal moon and determine the date of Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest religious festival for Muslims.

According to a press release issued on Wednesday by the Islamic Foundation, the meeting will take place at 6:00 pm at the conference room of the Islamic Foundation located at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, reports media

The press release further stated that the meeting will be chaired by Religious Affairs Adviser Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaykobad.

The Islamic Foundation has requested that if the Shawwal moon is sighted anywhere in the skies of Bangladesh, people inform the committee via the following phone numbers: 02-41053294, 02-226640510, and 02-223383397.

They have also been asked to notify the respective Deputy Commissioner (DC) or Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO).
