Tanzid hits maiden ton against Pakistan
Left-arm opener Tanzid Hasan of Bangladesh Cricket team hit his maiden One Day International (ODI) century against Pakistan Cricket team in their third ODI at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur on Sunday.
Tanzid Hasan earned this feat after playing 31 ODI matches. He reached the 100-run landmark using 98 deliveries. He hit seven sixes and six fours staying 149 minutes at the crease.
Tanzid Hasan reached the hundred-run landmark hit a sixer of sixth ball of seventh over of Salman Agha. Tanzid notched up a run-a-ball 107 hitting six fours and seven sixes in his 162-minute play.
Openers Tanzid Hasan and Saif Hassan put on together 105 runs in the opening stand using 18.1 overs. He reached the 50-run landmark playing 47 deliveries with three fours and four sixes.
Saif Hassan was bowled out by Pakistani laft-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi. Saif Hassan made 36 using 55 deliveries featuring three fours.
After Saif Hassan’s dismissal, Tanzid Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto mended the innings contributing together 53 runs for the second wicket partnership before Shanto was trapped leg before wicket by Haris Rauf when Bangladesh’s score was 158 for the loss of two wickets.
Shanto scored 27 from 34 balls including three fours.
After Shanto’s departure, Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das added together 36 runs in the third wicket stand before Tanzid Hasan was caught at the mid-off by Shaheen Shah Afridi from a delivery of spinner Abrar Ahmed. It was Abrar Ahmed’s second delivery of his seventh over.
When Tanzid Hasan left the field the scorecard was showing 194 runs for the loss of three wickets in 36.2 overs. Before yesterday’s match, Tanzid Hasan’s highest score was 84 in his ODI campaign.
It may be mentioned that Tanzid Hasan saw the century for the first time in his ODI, Test and T20I mission.
