Jamaat organises Iftar, meeting

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka District Branch organised an iftar and discussion meeting to honour local journalists.

The event, held on Monday in the Radio Colony area, was attended by local journalists and Jamaat-e-Islami leaders.

The chief guest was Central Majlis-e-Shura member and Dhaka District Secretary Maulana Md. Afjal Hossain, while special guests included District Legal Secretary Advocate Md. Shahidul Islam and District Political Secretary Hasan Mahbub Master.

Dhaka District Jamaat’s Publicity and Media Secretary Asaduzzaman Jim chaired the programme.
Speakers at the event said the media acts as a mirror of society. Journalists play an important role in highlighting the country’s ongoing situation, the hopes and aspirations of the people, and various problems.

Therefore, cordial relations and exchange of views with journalists have a positive impact on society and the state.

In his speech as chief guest, Maulana Md. Afjal Hossain said the holy month of Ramadan teaches self-purification, empathy, and brotherhood. It is necessary to strengthen mutual relations among people of different classes and professions in society during this month.

He also mentioned that responsible and truthful news presentation by journalists can play an important role in the welfare of the country and the nation.
