‘Are we born only to explain?’ Faria
Popular Dhallywood actress Nusraat Faria has given a bold and protesting message on social media on the International Women’s Day.
She has questioned society’s mentality of demanding accountability for women’s clothing, decisions, and every step of their lives.
Faria wrote in her post, “I have also come out of this habit of questioning every choice a woman makes: why did she do this, why did she do that, why did she dress like that, why did she make such a decision.”
Expressing his annoyance at this constant surveillance of society, she also said, “Are we born just to explain? Must we be held accountable for every step we take?”
Reminding her of her personal freedom and rights, the actress said, “People have dreams, opinions, freedom, and the right to live their own lives.”
Finally, he called for no special pomp on Women’s Day, but simply to be allowed to be ourselves in peace, saying, “So on this Women’s Day, just let us be ourselves. That will do.”
