All univs ordered to close from today

To conserve electricity, all universities in the country have been ordered to close from today, ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The Ministry of Education issued the directive on Sunday.

The notice stated that, in light of the global energy crisis, it is essential to save electricity and fuel nationwide.

Accordingly, all public and private universities will remain closed from 9 March until the dates originally scheduled for Eid.

University authorities have also been given several instructions to save electricity, including: using natural daylight instead of electric lights during the day.

Switching off unnecessary lights and fans, setting air conditioners at 25°C or higher and turning off all electrical equipment when leaving office rooms, avoiding the use of unnecessary lights in corridors, staircases, and washrooms
