N’ganj district admin conducts drives to ensure fuel supply
The district administration conducted drives at petrol pumps across Narayanganj to ensure a normal fuel supply situation. The operations were carried out on Saturday (March 7) in Narayanganj Sadar, Siddhirganj, Fatullah, Rupganj, and Bandar upazilas.
During the drive, a mobile court of the Narayanganj District Administration inspected Prime Filling Station, Chowrangi Filling Station, and Firoz Filling Station in Fatullah.
During the inspection, it was found that Prime Filling Station and Chowrangi Filling Station were selling fuel within the government-set limits.
However, sales receipts were not being issued to all customers. The authorities concerned were instructed to comply with all government regulations and ensure that every customer receives a sales receipt.
Meanwhile, it was learned during the inspection that Firoz Filling Station had remained closed for the past few days. Drives were also conducted at several petrol pumps in Siddhirganj, Fatullah, Bandar, Araihazar, and Rupganj.
The stock registers were checked and found to be consistent with the records, so no petrol pumps were fined. Tarif Al Tawhid, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate of the Narayanganj District Administration, said that no complaints were received from consumers present during the drive.
Although a tendency among some consumers to collect extra fuel was noticed, fuel was still being supplied within the prescribed limits. The stock registers were also verified and found to match the records.
He further said that the sale of loose fuel had been prohibited and petrol pump owners were instructed to follow government guidelines regarding fuel storage and sales.
