Leaders of the National Citizen Party on Friday unveiled a new book chronicling the party’s political evolution and activities since its formation, at a ceremony held at the party’s temporary central office in Banglamotor in the capital.
Titled “NCP’r Jatra,” the book has been written by the party’s joint chief coordinator Md Mahabub Alam and published by Mahbubur Rahman, proprietor of Adarsha Prokashoni.
Several senior party leaders attended the unveiling ceremony, including NCP member secretary
Akhtar Hossain, joint conveners Sarwar Tushar and Muzahedul Islam Shahin, and NCP Diaspora Alliance convener Saif Ibn Sarwar, along with leaders and activists from different levels of the party.
According to the organisers, the book documents the party’s political journey since its inception, detailing its movements, struggles and organisational activities.
It also discusses public expectations and political outcomes associated with the July Uprising in Bangladesh.
Speaking at the event, author Mahabub Alam said the book includes a critical analysis of the lengthy tenure of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
He said the analysis seeks to help readers better understand the complexities of Bangladesh’s democratic structure, civil rights issues and political culture.
Organisers said “NCP’r Jatra” is intended to serve as a record of the party’s early political trajectory, presenting a detailed account of its programmes, speeches and organisational developments.
They added that the publication seeks to preserve the history of the party’s formative years while offering readers insight into the political context surrounding its emergence.
