Iran–Israel war: BD Embassy in Doha issues advisory

The Bangladesh Embassy in Doha has urged expatriate Bangladeshis in Qatar to remain on high alert in view of the evolving situation linked to the ongoing Iran–Israel conflict.
In an emergency notice issued on Saturday, the embassy called on all Bangladeshi nationals to exercise special caution and prioritize personal safety.
It advised them to stay away from military installations and avoid unnecessary movement outside their residences.
“For security reasons, all are requested to remain in their respective
residences or safe places and not to go out unless absolutely necessary until the danger subsides,” the notice stated.
The advisory comes amid heightened regional tensions that have prompted several diplomatic missions to issue precautionary guidance to their citizens.
Although Qatar has not reported any direct security incidents affecting expatriates, the embassy underscored the importance of preparedness and vigilance.
Considering the situation, the embassy instructed Bangladeshi nationals to keep essential items readily available. These include cash, Qatar ID cards, health cards, necessary medicines, mobile phone chargers, and dry food items.
The notice also reminded expatriates to strictly respect the laws of Qatar and comply with all instructions issued by the Qatari authorities.
“Everyone is requested to respect the law and acts of Qatar and the instructions of the Qatar government,” it said.
In addition, the embassy cautioned against sharing or uploading any pictures or videos related to the current situation on social media platforms, noting that such actions may violate existing Qatari laws It urged the community to exercise restraint and responsibility while using social media.
Qatar hosts a significant number of Bangladeshi expatriates, many of whom are employed in construction, services, and other key sectors.
The embassy’s advisory reflects growing concern over the broader regional security environment and aims to ensure the safety and compliance of Bangladeshi nationals during this period of uncertainty.
The mission has not announced any evacuation measures but indicated that it will continue to monitor developments closely and provide further guidance if necessary.
