Fakirhat fire victims get govt assistance

Government assistance has been provided to the families affected by fire in Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district. On Thursday, the Upazila Administration and Upazila Project Implementation Office provided 3 C I sheets, a bank check of Tk.9,000 and dry food to the affected families.

It is learnt that on Tuesday evening the dwelling house belonging to Israfil Sheikh, a day labourer of village Moubhog Paschimpara within Naldha-Moubhogh Union under Fakirhat Upazila was burnt down in a terrible fire.

The family lost their homes and daily necessities and suffered greatly. Sumina Irin, UNO (Upazila Nirbahi Officer), Fakirhat and Imrul Kayes, PIO, Tahira Khatun, Women Affair Officer and others were present on the occasion. The affected family members expressed their gratitude to the administration upon receiving this assistance.
