Soon after the victory, on February 13, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent a congratulatory message to newly elected Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. The next day, the two leaders spoke on the phone, reaffirming their commitment to continuing the strong ties between their countries.

In the days following the formation of the new government, Indian Speaker of the Lok Sabha visited Dhaka to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Rahman, where he delivered a letter from Prime Minister Modi.

Verma described these interactions as “high-level communications that underscore our shared commitment to strengthening multifaceted bilateral relations.”
