New Water Resources Ministers urge corruption-free work

Newly-appointed Water Resources Minister Md Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, MP, and State Minister Farhad Hossain Azad, MP, met with officials and staff from the Ministry of Water Resources and Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) on Thursday, at Pani Bhaban on Green Road in Dhaka.
The exchange meeting, chaired by Ministry Secretary Dr. A.K.M. Shahabuddin, featured presentations on BWDB operations by Additional Chief Engineer Robin Kumar Biswas and goodwill remarks from BWDB Director General Md. Enayet Ullah, says a press release.
State Minister Farhad Hossain relayed Prime Minister’s instructions prohibiting tax-free cars or plots for MPs and ministers, extending this anti-perk message to all ministry and BWDB officials, urging corruption-free operations.
Minister Shahid Uddin called for strengthening the PM’s vision of a corruption-free society to restore national image and rebuild infrastructure, emphasising public-interest projects over personal gains.
He urged unified efforts across levels for national development and invited proposals for ministry review, pledging implementation support.
