Safa plays as a mermaid first time

Television actress Safa Kabir will be seen in a different kind of role this time. She is playing the title character in the experimental drama “Matsyakanya” (The Mermaid).

The shooting of the drama, directed by Seraniabat Shaon, has already been completed.

Speaking about the project, Safa said, “After doing this work, I feel that an experimental drama has been added to my acting career.

The story revolves around a mermaid. For this, a special mermaid costume was used. Swimming while wearing the mermaid costume was very challenging.

One day, I had to stay in the mermaid outfit continuously for six hours.”

Safa added that she had not previously done many illusion-based projects like this. “In ‘Matsyakanya,’ I was mentally prepared to dive into the sea wearing the mermaid costume.

I was determined to complete the shot no matter what. I told the director and the team that even if I floated away or died, I wanted to give the shot.

I also told the team that if I did not come up within five seconds, they should come and get me.

I have taken such risks several times before in my acting career, which were never mentioned.”
