Ansar-VDP vows zero tolerance for election irregularities

In a vibrant preparatory rally at Tangail District Stadium on Thursday, Major General Abdul Matlub Sajjad Mahmud, Director General of Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP), urged members deployed for the 13th National Parliament Elections and Referendum-2026 to uphold unity, discipline, and professionalism to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful polls.

Addressing thousands of Ansar-VDP personnel, the DG emphasized strengthening mutual coordination and collective strength to thwart any irregularities or aggression, says a press release.

“Basic training, unity, discipline, and integrity form the foundation for a smooth, peaceful, and acceptable election,” he declared.

The event was live-streamed via giant screens in Rajshahi, Naogaon, and Mymensingh districts, boosting morale and resolve among deployed members.

Highlighting the force’s legacy since 1948, the DG noted that 13 Ansar-VDP members at each polling centre would form an impregnable shield against disruptions.

He stressed personal gear security, uniform adherence, food management, and discipline, positioning members as worthy ambassadors to build public trust.

Concluding, the DG affirmed: “Delivering a transparent, impartial election free from evil influences is not just duty-it’s a sacred trust. Ansar-VDP remains steadfast in national service, fortifying Bangladesh’s democratic framework.”
