Nation seeks security, peace and BNP rule: Elen Bhutto

Israt Sultana Elen Bhutto, former Member of Parliament from Jhalokathi-2 and wife of late former MP Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, told journalists on Monday during an election campaign in Subidpur Union of Nalchity, that the peace-loving people of the country want security, peace, and BNP rule.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) announced its candidate for the Jhalokathi-2 constituency on 3 November 2025, ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election. The nominated candidate for Jhalokathi-2 (Sadar-Nalchity) is former Member of Parliament Israt Sultana Elen Bhutto.
She made the remarks on Monday at Shaiyor, Ward No. 2 of Subidpur Union in Nalchity, while speaking to journalists during a door-to-door campaign for the upcoming National Parliamentary Election scheduled for 12 February 2026.
Former MP Elen Bhutto said, “I have never engaged in extortion, terrorism, or anarchy. I have always done what the people wanted. I have completed the unfinished work of Bhutto Sahib (her husband). If the golden people of Jhalokathi-2 give me the responsibility, I will always stand by them, because I have received their love.”
“We are hopeful that our beloved leader, Elen Bhutto will win a landslide victory and continue to serve the country,” said Subidpur Union BNP Vice-President, Nalchity, Humayun Kabir Khan.
During the campaign, Upazila BNP President Anisur Rahman Helal, Swechchhasebak Dal Convener Touhidul Islam Manna, Subidpur Union BNP Vice-President Humayun Kabir Khan, and other BNP leaders and activists were present.
