BNP will expand RMG industry in Gazipur Tarique Rahman

BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman vows to expand RMG industries across Gazipur and to take adequate steps to improve living standard of RMG workers and their childrean.
The BNP Chief said it while addressing a midnight election campaigning in Gazipur on the early Wednesday.
The BNP-organized the electioneering public meeting at the historic Bhawal Rajbari grounds in Gazipur turned into a massive gathering.
Although the meeting officially started at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, people filled the ground and surrounding areas for several kilometers, waiting late into the night to hear BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman speak. The meeting was held to introduce the BNP-nominated candidates for the five constituencies of the district for the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election on 12th February and to seek votes.
After more than two decades, supporters from various thanas and unions of Gazipur began assembling from noon onwards, eager to see and hear their beloved leader in person. Even before the meeting started, Bhawal Rajbari grounds were packed to capacity.
Crowds spread from Shibbari to Jorpukur Par and as far as Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College. Due to the heavy turnout, it took Tarique Rahman’s convoy nearly one and a half hours to reach the venue from Chandana Chourasta. Many were seen risking their lives to take selfies with their leader.
Around 11:45 PM, Tarique Rahman appeared on stage with his wife, Dr. Zobaida Rahman. He apologized for the delay and announced two new service-oriented projects if the BNP wins the upcoming election: the introduction of a Family Card to provide financial support to women and an Agriculture Card aimed at improving the livelihoods of farmers and bringing substantial change to the rural economy.
In his speech, Tarique Rahman recalled the contribution of the late President Ziaur Rahman in establishing the foundation of the garment industry and the unpaid educational benefits provided to women during Begum Khaleda Zia’s tenure. He promised to further expand Gazipur’s garment sector and establish modern daycare centers for the children of female workers.
Highlighting his close personal connection with Gazipur, Tarique Rahman emotionally said, “I spent my childhood in a red house on the southern side of Gazipur Rajbari. I played in this ground. Therefore, I have a special claim on the people of Gazipur.”
He also outlined special plans to reduce traffic congestion in Gazipur, including constructing a flyover at Joydebpur Railgate and dredging and cleaning the Turag, Chilai, and Shaldah rivers.
Addressing the upcoming election, he urged party workers to remain vigilant, saying, “Pray Tahajjud, go to the polling station after performing Fajr prayer in congregation, and stand in line.
Ensure no one enters the polling station before you.” He then introduced the BNP-nominated candidates for Gazipur’s five constituencies on stage and requested votes for the party’s symbol, the “Sheaf of Paddy.”
The meeting, presided over by Gazipur Metropolitan BNP President Shawkat Hossain Sarkar and conducted by Gazipur-2 BNP-nominated candidate and General Secretary of Gazipur Metropolitan BNP M. Manjurul Karim Roni along with District BNP Secretary Chowdhury Barrister Israk Ahmed Siddiqui, featured continuous speeches from several leaders.
