CCC Mayor visited WWII cemetery

United States Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent T. Christensen (Brent T. Christensen) with Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hussain visited the city’s World War II War Cemetery.

During the visit on Tuesday, deep respect was paid to the memory of the martyred soldiers who sacrificed their lives in World War II.

Simultaneously, an exchange of views was held between the two parties on the historical importance, conservation measures, aesthetic environment and environmental aspects of the War Cemetery.

Ambassador Brent T. Christensen mentioned the possibility of future cooperation in Chattogram city’s urban development, environmental protection, health care and civic services.

At this time, the mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain briefed the Ambassador about the ongoing development activities of CCC, modern urban management initiatives, expansion of civic services and future plans.

He said that international cooperation is very important for sustainable and modern urban development. It is necessary to use world class technology and experience to make Chattogram a clean, livable and smart city.

In the last one year, CCC has implemented multifaceted and planned activities for urban development, said Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain.

He said, with the aim of developing the overall communication system of the city, under the engineering department of the city corporation, small drainage infrastructure including road development and new road construction, retaining and guide wall construction has been developed.
