Rajshahi blank Siraj Smriti in WFL

Rajshahi Stars Football Club and Farashganj Sporting won their respective matches in the Women’s Football League (WFL) at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the capital’s Kamalapur on Tuesday.

Rajshahi blanked Siraj Smriti Football Club 13-0. In the other match of the day, Farashganj defeated BKSP 2-0 at the same venue.

Rajshahi led the points table bagging 24 points from eight matches. There are two more matches left in the 11-team league. The last two round matches will be held within a few days.

Alpi Akhter scored five goals with a hat-trick, Ritu Porna Chakma scored a hat-trick, while Rajshahi’s Nepalese recruit Deepa Sahi and Shaheda Akhter scored two each and Munki Akhter scored one goal.

Along with Rajshahi, Farashganj have also formed a good team. After losing to Rajshahi, they are three points behind.

Farashganj got a hard-fought victory against BKSP. Farashganj defeated BKSP with one goal each from Monika Chakma and Shamsunnahar Junior.
