‘Running country according to Islamic law imperative’

Staff Reporter:

Charmonai Pir and Islami Andolon Bangladesh Ameer Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim on Sunday said, people of the country were eagerly waiting for the box that stood for Islam and justice (insaf), but that box has been hijacked.

Now only matters of running the country under conventional laws remain in that box.

Charmonai Pir made these remarks on Sunday afternoon while speaking as the chief guest at an election roadside rally at Pashu Hospital Mor in Phulbaria upazila of Mymensingh.

The rally was organized in support of the party candidate for the Mymensingh-6 (Phulbaria) constituency. The Charmonai Pir said that although many parties are participating in the election, only Islami Andolon Bangladesh is working with the objective of establishing insaf (justice) or fairness through Islamic principles and ideals.

Expressing optimism, he said, “If the Hand Fan symbol is elected in the future, smiles will return to the faces of the common people of the country.”

Special guests at the rally included Alhaj Mufti Nure Alam Siddiqui, the ‘Hand Fan’ symbol candidate for the Phulbaria seat. Leaders and activists from various district and upazila levels also spoke at the meeting
