Razzak used to support his family with income of Tk65 per week

Entertainment Report :

Yesterday was the 84th birthday of legendary Bangladeshi film actor ‘Nayakraj’ Abdur Razzak. He was born in Kolkata on January 23, 1942. Although he left for his
homeland on August 21, 2017, he is still immortal in the hearts of the audience.

April 26, 1964. Communal riots were going on all around. During that turbulent time, Razzak migrated from Kolkata with his wife and children to Dhaka as a refugee on the advice of a well-wisher.

At that time, Tollywood was ruled by Uttam Kumar, Soumitra Chatterjee and Biswajit. It was almost impossible to make a place for himself there. But Razzak started
a new war after setting foot on the soil of Dhaka.

The path to becoming a hero was not smooth at all. He settled down in a rented house in the Farmgate area of Dhaka with his two children and wife. At that time, television dramas were the main source of life and livelihood.

In an interview, Razzak recalled those difficult times and said, “A weekly drama saved me. You young people today would be very surprised if you knew that I used to earn Tk65 a week from dramas.

With this money, I spent my days living in a rented house with my two sons. Those days were spent with great difficulty.”
