Election awareness focused meeting held

The Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) of Muktagacha, Krishna Chandra, and the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Muktagacha Police Station, Md. Lutfur Rahman, held a tea session and exchange-of-views meeting with journalists working at the Muktagacha Press Club.
The meeting was held on Monday night at the Muktagacha Press Club building, with Press Club President F. M. A. Salam presiding over the session. The event was conducted by Press Club General Secretary M. Idris Ali. Among others who took part in the discussion were the club’s founding president and senior journalist A. Z. M. Imam Uddin Mukta, Upazila Election Officer Rajibul Karim, Upazila Social Services Officer Md. Jahirul Islam, Press Club Organizing Secretary Ferdous Alam, along with club officials, members, and journalists from various media outlets. In his speech, UNO Krishna Chandra highlighted the role of the media and journalists in ensuring social and national welfare and sought cooperation from all concerned in overall development activities. He called upon journalists to extend their full cooperation in order to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful upcoming national parliamentary election.
He also discussed creating public awareness regarding voting and mentioned that voter awareness activities are being carried out in different unions, seeking journalists’ support in this regard.
OC Md. Lutfur Rahman, in his remarks, sought the cooperation of journalists to maintain overall law and order in Muktagacha.
