Army suffer first defeat in WFL

Bangladesh Army Sports Club suffered their first defeat in the Women’s Football League ( WFL) when they were beaten by Farashganj Sporting Club by a lone goal was held at Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Shipahi Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city’s Kamalapur on Saturday.
After the barren first half, Shamsunnahar Jr. scored the all-important goal for Farashganj in the 82nd minute of the match. Farashganj’s striker Shamsunnahar Junior has been named the best player for five consecutive matches.
Shamsunnahar Junior has scored 19 goals in 5 matches in the ongoing league.
“This match was a challenge for us.
I won with my goal, it feels good. I was the best in all five matches. After being the best in four consecutive matches, it felt like a record,” Shamsunnahar said.
Farashganj captain Maria Manda said, “Not all the matches in the league are over. There are tough matches. It will be tough to win the title.
But we are confident. Most of the army team is from the national team. We were able to beat them.”
Unnoti Khatun of Bangladesh Army was shown direct red card by the referee in the 90th minute for her unsporting behavior in the match.
