Tasnim, Moulvibazar’s lone female candidate

A total of 31 candidates filed nomination papers for four constituencies in Moulvibazar district to contest the 13th National Parliament election. Among them, two were women candidates. The nomination papers were scrutinized on January 3. During the selection process, Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Touhiduzzaman Pavel declared 26 candidates valid, canceling the nomination papers of five candidates from the Jar constituency, including independent female candidate Regina Naser from Moulvibazar-3 (Sadar-Rajnagar) constituency. Out of the 26 candidates declared valid in Moulvibazar district, the only female candidate is Sadia Noshin Tasnim Chowdhury. She is a Bangladesh Socialist Party candidate from the 236, Moulvibazar-2 (Kalaura) parliamentary constituency. (Marxist) will contest as a nominated candidate.

Sadia Noshin Tasnim Chowdhury’s father Saad Lutfur Razzak Chowdhury was a government primary school teacher. Mother Amina Begum Chowdhury is a housewife. She lives in Moulvibazar. In the Laskarpur area of Ward No. 9 of Kulaura Municipality After completing her secondary education from the traditional Navin Chandra Government Model High School in Kulaura, Sadia was admitted to Sylhet Government Women’s College.

From there after completing his higher secondary education and enrolling in the undergraduate class at Murari Chand (MC) College, he joined student politics in 2011 as a member of the Socialist Student Front.
