Railway annual sports competition held

The 45th Annual Sports Competition of Bangladesh Railway-2026 was recently held in a grand atmosphere organized by the Bangladesh Railway Sports Control Board. This two-day sports event created great enthusiasm and brotherhood among the railway officers and employees.

The competition was inaugurated by releasing balloons and a flock of pigeons on the main stage decorated with colorful banners, the Olympic ring symbol and lively pictures of runners. The message of sportsmanship, discipline and camaraderie was clearly evident in the opening ceremony.

Players from different zones and divisions of Bangladesh Railway participated in the competition. The opening ceremony was presided over by General Manager (East) and President of Bangladesh Railway Sports Control Board Md. Subaktagin.

Director General of Bangladesh Railway Md. Afzal Hossain was present as the chief guest at the ceremony. Additional Director General (Operations) Md. Nazmul Islam, Additional Director General (Infrastructure) Al Fattah Masudur Rahman, Additional Director General (Development) were present as special guests.

Also present at the event were General Manager (West) Md. Farid Uddin, senior officials of various levels of the railway.

The competition concluded successfully with the distribution of prizes among the winners of various events. The entire event turned into a joyful gathering with the spontaneous participation of the players and spectators.
