Severe cold grips Chatmohar
Pabna Correspondent :
The bone-chilling cold of the last month has set in in the Chalonbil-populated areas including Chatmohar. Along with thick fog and cold winds from the north, the normal life of the region has been disrupted. The hardest hit by the severe cold are the working class, daily wage workers, vehicle drivers, children and the elderly.
Despite the sunshine for the last two days, the intensity of the cold has not decreased. The roads are emptying soon after evening. Many are trying to ward off the cold by lighting fires. The incidence of cold-related diseases has increased. Hospitals are overwhelmed with patients suffering from diarrhea, cold-like fever and pneumonia. Crowds have increased in old warm clothes shops.
Some blankets have been distributed at the government and private levels. Which is very less compared to the demand. This year, the lowest temperature recorded in Chatmohar this winter season was 9.8 degrees Celsius.
