DU hosts FSB-YFSC

The FSB-Young Fisheries Students Congress (YFSC) was unfolded on Thursday at Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban, University of Dhaka, organised jointly by the university’s Fisheries Department, Fisheries Society of Bangladesh (FSB), and Bangladesh Fisheries Executives Association (BFEA). University of Dhaka Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan addressed the gathering as chief guest, emphasising the fisheries sector’s vital role, says a press release.
He urged unified efforts among educators, researchers, and practitioners to reduce divides, calling for collaboration between public-private universities and central-regional institutions. “Such events will strengthen relationships and communication for national interests,” he added.
Chaired by Fisheries Department Chairman Professor Mohammad Mamun Chowdhury, the program featured special guests from the Directorate of Fisheries-Director General Md. Zia Haider Chowdhury-and BFEA Director General Dr. Anuradha Bhadr. Bangladesh Agricultural University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A K Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan attended as honored guest. Goodwill messages came from WorldFish Bangladesh Country Representative Faruk-ul Islam, FSB President Professor Dr. Md. Abul Mansur, and Secretary Professor Dr. S.M. Rafiquzzaman.
