Bank Asia honours 4 retiring shariah committee members

Bank Asia PLC has honoured four retiring members of its Shariah Supervisory Committee in recognition of their long service and contributions to the development of the bank’s Islamic banking operations.
The honour was conferred at a programme held recently at Bank Asia Tower in Karwan Bazar, Dhaka, marking the 17th anniversary of the bank’s Islamic Banking Services.
Those honoured were Mufti Shahed Rahmani, former chairman of the Shariah Supervisory Committee; Mawlana Shah Mohammad Wali Ullah, former member secretary; and former faqih members Mawlana Mohammad Mofazzal Hussain Khan and Dr Mawlana Muhammad Ismail Hussain. Commemorative crests and gifts were presented to them in appreciation of their contributions.
Arequl Arefeen, deputy managing director of Bank Asia, along with other deputy managing directors, attended the programme.
The head of Islamic Banking and heads of relevant departments were also present.
Heads of Islamic Banking windows, branch managers and officials from various branches joined the programme virtually.
During the programme, the retiring members’ long association with the bank, dedication and role in strengthening Bank Asia’s Islamic banking operations were gratefully acknowledged.
