Grameenphone introduces wi-fi calling using vowi-fi tech
Business Desk :
Grameenphone has introduced Wi-Fi Calling using Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi) technology, marking a new milestone in the country’s digital connectivity journey.
With the launch of the service, Grameenphone customers with VoLTE-enabled connections can experience enhanced voice quality on compatible smartphones. The service enables users to make and receive voice calls over supported Wi-Fi networks, without the need for additional applications.
Grameenphone has partnered with several internet service providers, including BracNet, Carnival Internet, Chittagong Online Limited and MiME-Internet, as initial collaborators to ensure seamless service delivery.
The company said the introduction of Wi-Fi Calling is intended to further enhance call quality and provide a more reliable calling experience, particularly in areas where mobile network coverage may be limited.
“At Grameenphone, we remain committed to delivering a superior customer experience through continuous innovation and digital services,” said Solaiman Alam, Chief Product Officer of Grameenphone.
“The introduction of Wi-Fi Calling marks another key milestone in this journey. We look forward to enabling our valued customers to enjoy clearer, high-quality voice calls over their Wi-Fi networks,” he added.
