CCC Mayor mourns death of Khaleda

Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor and former Metropolitan BNP President Dr. Shahadat Hossain has expressed deep shock and sorrow over the death of Bangladesh’s first female Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
In a condolence message, he said, Begum Khaleda Zia was an integral part of the democratic politics of Bangladesh. She has fought uncompromisingly for the right to vote, independence and sovereignty of the people of the country throughout her life.
She has led the country and the nation for a long time and played an important role in establishing democracy, national sovereignty and the rights of the people. Begum Khaleda Zia was not only the leader of BNP, she was an important chapter in the history of Bangladesh. With her death, the country lost a great guardian and experienced statesman. I am deeply saddened and shocked by her death. He said, “In this moment of mourning, I pray for the forgiveness of his departed soul and express my deepest condolences to the bereaved family, party leaders and activists and the countrymen.” In his condolence message, the mayor called on all political parties and people from all walks of life in the country to maintain restraint, patience and mutual understanding during this time of mourning.
