Fake Non-Judicial and Revenue Stamps Worth Crores Seized in N’ganj, Two Arrested

Police conducted a raid on an illegal factory producing non-judicial and revenue stamps in Siddhirganj, Narayanganj, and seized fake stamps worth several crores of taka. During the raid, two workers were arrested while they were on duty. The detainees are Mintu Khan (35), son of Md. Almas Khan of Intazmolla Dangi village under Charbhadrasan Police Station in Faridpur, and Munna Islam Mikail (21), son of Md. Kamal Mia of Rupshat village under Boalmari Police Station in the same district. The operation was carried out on Thursday (December 25) around 3 PM at a factory set up in Emdad Haji’s house located near the “Pacha Saban Factory” by the Mouchak bus stand area in Siddhirganj. Siddhirganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Barik said that a man named Md. Sabuj Motahar, son of Md. Saiful Islam, had set up a printing factory on the ground floor of the second-storey house owned by Emdad Haji in the Mouchak area. The factory had been producing counterfeit non-judicial stamps and revenue stamps.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided the factory and seized a huge quantity of counterfeit non-judicial stamps valued at Tk 50 and Tk 100, along with fake revenue stamps ranging from Tk 5 to Tk 50, and printing papers estimated to be worth several crores of taka. Counting of the seized items is still underway. Two workers present at the factory were arrested during the raid. OC Abdul Barik further said that after the counting process is completed, legal action will be taken against the factory owner and the arrested suspects.
