District administration honors 103 expatriates in 6 categories in Sylhet

Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Secretary Abdul Naser Khan said,Bangladesh is economically very strong because of expatriates. Expatriates have contributed to every aspect of this country. The government will provide various benefits including tax-free investment to expatriates. He said this as the chief guest in the expatriate honor program organized by the Sylhet District Administration at the Kabi Nazrul Auditorium in Rikabi Bazar on Saturday (December 27) afternoon.
He said that there can be an NRB investment zone in Sylhet for safe investment. He also called for the establishment of an NRB smart city in Sylhet. For this, he emphasized the need to remove all the sufferings including land, documents, security. Earlier, 582 applications were submitted in the last 20 days. Out of these, the district administration reviewed various aspects and honored 103 people.
It is known that on November 17, the Sylhet District Administration announced the decision to honor the remittance warriors of Sylhet and invited applications in six categories. Applications were accepted until December 5. The categories include – successful professionals, successful businessmen, successful community leaders, successful women entrepreneurs, successful sports achievers and importers of Bangladeshi products in related countries. Google forms and email addresses are provided to submit complete resumes for applications in these categories.
More than six hundred expatriates from Sylhet residing in 11 countries around the world applied for the honor within the stipulated time. Successful professionals, successful businessmen, successful community leaders, successful women entrepreneurs, successful sports achievers and importers of Bangladeshi products in related countries. Google forms and email addresses are provided to submit complete resumes for applications in these categories.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) of Sylhet District Administration Masud Rana said that more than six hundred expatriates from Sylhet residing in 11 countries of the world had applied for the award within the stipulated time.
Sylhet Divisional Commissioner Khan Md. Reza Un Nabi, Deputy Commissioner Md. Sarwar Alam, and Superintendent of Police Kazi Akhtarul Alam were present at the award ceremony.
On the occasion of the award ceremony, Sylhet District Administration initiated a rally from Queen Bridge around 10 am on Saturday (December 27) and ended at Rikabibazar Point. Later, the expatriate awards were presented at the Kabi Nazrul Auditorium in Rikabibazar amidst a colorful and colorful event.
