Women’s Cricket League kicks off today

The Women’s Cricket League (WCL) is set to kick off today in T20 format at Rajshahi Divisional Stadium.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) formed four teams– East Zone, North Zone, South Zone and Central Zone– to play the tournament, ending on December 26.
The board, in this regard, released the fixture and announced the squad of the four teams on Sunday.

Two matches will be held every day. Central Zone takes on North Zone at the opening tournament today. The match starts at 9 AM.

In the second match which starts at 1.30 PM, East Zone will face off South Zone in the match.
Rajshahi Divisional Stadium will host all of the matches of the league.

Central Zone: Nigar Sultana Joty (captain), Ishma Tanzim, Dilara Akter, Jannatul Ferdous Sumona, Ritu Moni, Sabikun Nahar Jesmin, Sumaiya Akter, Fariha Islam Trishna, Jannatul Maoua, Anisa Akter Sova, Mst Eva, Suborna Kormokar, Leky Chakma and Tomalika Sumona.

East Zone: Fahima Khatun (captain), Shorna Akter, Rubya Haider Jhilik, Habiba Islam Pinky, Shathi Rani, Fatema Jahan Sonia, Taj Nehar, Fuara Begum, Unnoti Akter, Murshida Khatun, Halimatul Sadia, Ashrafi Yasmin Arthy, Mumtahena Hasnat Sinthiya and Sumi Akter.

North Zone: Sobhana Mostary (captain), Shamima Sultana, Shanjida Akhter Meghla, Sharmin Akter Supta, Farjana Easmin, Shorifa Khatun, Sarmin Sultana, Afia Ashima Era, Disha Biswas, Meherun Nesa, Lucky Khatun, Farzana Akter Lisa, Puja Chakraborty and Nusrat Jahan.

South Zone: Rabeya Khan (captain), Marufa Akter, Juairiya Ferdous, Sultana Khatun, Lata Mondol, Farzana Haque, Misty Rani Shaha, Fatema Akter Ety, Fahomida Choya, Dipa Khatun, Happy Alom, Aysha Akter, Lima Khatun and Shibani Rani.
