Tongi Jor Ijtema death toll reaches 5

At the ongoing five-day Jor Ijtema held under Tabligh Jamaat Bangladesh Shurai Nezam at Tongi Bishwa Ijtema Maidan, two more Muslim devotees have died, raising the total deaths to five.

The deceased are 62-year-old Abul Asad Badal from Sylhet and 100-year-old Moin Uddin from Brahmanbaria.

Abul Asad Badal died from respiratory complications in hospital, while Moin Uddin passed away naturally at the Ijtema site on Sunday morning.

The event started on November 28 and will conclude with a final prayer on December 2.

The Jor Ijtema serves as an annual gathering to evaluate activities and set directions for the coming year.
