DSE rebounds after 2-week slump
Business Desk:
Shares on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) ended last week higher, breaking a two-week losing streak as bargain hunting and renewed investor interest outweighed initial caution over regulatory reforms.
The benchmark DSEX index gained 30.47 points, or 0.6%, closing at 5,149.89, according to DSE data. Early-week volatility reflected investor concern over newly approved margin rules, but sentiment improved later as investors targeted stocks perceived as undervalued following fresh earnings and dividend announcements.
Blue-chip stocks, tracked by the DS30 index, and Shariah-compliant companies, represented by the DSES index, also posted gains.
