DC Sarwar inspects Kanaighat Health Complex in Sylhet:Decision taken to ensure public welfare

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Sylhet Md. Sarwar Alam inspected Kanaighat Upazila Health Complex. On Monday (October 20) afternoon, he listened to the locals’ long-standing grievances regarding healthcare and took an immediate decision in this regard.
During the inspection, the locals also raised various complaints with the DC. They alleged that the health complex has been facing various problems for a long time, such as non-operation of ambulances, lack of permanent doctors and nurses, manpower shortage in the hospital, etc.
At that time, they also complained that the activities of the new building with 51 beds have not yet started. Moreover, the local residents also spoke about the dirt, unsanitary environment, and medical services in the hospital premises.
DC Md. Sarwar Alam listened to all their complaints carefully and assured to resolve the problems. He said, “Wherever I go, I try to solve the problems by listening to the sufferings of the people. I came to Kanaighat for the same purpose. When I came here, I saw with my own eyes that the condition is really bad. The health complex has become a pile of garbage. Today, the cleaning work of the new and old buildings will start with 15 workers under the supervision of the Upazila Executive Officer. The locals will also cooperate in this.”
He also said, “The remaining problems will also be solved step by step. I will talk to the Health Ministry about the manpower crisis here. In addition, proper childbirth services will be ensured. Arrangements will also be made to start the new building quickly.”
The joy and excitement spread among the people present at the assurance of the District Administrator. They prayed for the Deputy Administrator with great emotion.
He also visited Kanaighat police station at 11 am. Throughout the day, he attended various meetings organized by the Upazila administration and various government departments. He planted saplings in the Upazila administration premises.
