We face death as per Hasina’s call record: Rizvi
Staff Reporter :
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said, We were facing death, and this is evident from Sheikh Hasina’s call record.
He made the remarks on Thursday while responding to journalists’ questions at the party’s central office in Nayapaltan.
Rizvi said, Sheikh Hasina was directly giving instructions to open fire, and the evidence-including documents and clips of telephone conversations-that was presented yesterday at the International Crimes Tribunal, would send shivers down the spine of anyone who hears it. Those of us who fought, struggled, and engaged in politics for democracy were each facing death.
He added, We have witnessed Sheikh Hasina’s barbarity with our own eyes, we ourselves have been victims of persecution, we were kept in remand for days, in prison for months-we saw the horrors. But what lay deeper was even more terrifying. To suppress a movement, they pushed it toward a dreadful outcome, which is now becoming clear from the evidence being submitted and presented in court every day.
He further said, The issues being presented from the former prime minister’s telephone conversations are creating anxiety and fear among us. If this fascist force rises again, then thinking about the dreadful fate that awaits the people of the August 5 movement, the pro-democracy people, makes one’s body shudder.”
