1,200 tonnes of hilsa to be exported to India for Durga Puja

The government has approved the conditional export of 1,200 tonnes of hilsa to India ahead of Durga Puja, following its annual practice.
Interested exporters are invited to submit hard copy of applications during office hours by 5pm on 11 September, said a commerce ministry notification issued on Monday.
The notification specifies that applications must include the updated trade licence, ERC certificate, income tax certificate, VAT certificate, sales contract, licence from the Department of Fisheries, and any other relevant documents.
The government has set the minimum export price at $12.5 per kilogram of hilsha fish.
Exporters who previously applied without an invitation must also submit a new application to be considered, said the notification.
