Aminul Islam Bulbul to contest in BCB elections

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president and former national opener Aminul Islam Bulbul has announced that he will contest in the upcoming BCB elections.Although he had previously stated that he would not participate, Bulbul has now confirmed his candidacy.

The forthcoming BCB election has already become a hot topic of discussion in cricketing circles. Debates continue over who will run for the presidency, whose acceptance will be higher, and even which individuals will be nominated as councillors.

A virtual meeting of the Bangladesh Cricket Board was held on Monday, where election matters were discussed. It was confirmed that the election will take place in the first week of October.
In this election, Bulbul will be running for a director’s position. As the date draws closer, the atmosphere around the polls is intensifying, a development that Bulbul himself has acknowledged.

Speaking to the media, Bulbul said, “In Sha Allah, we will hold the elections in the first week of October. It will be a proper election. Here, the president is not directly elected; rather, directors are elected first. That is the initial goal, and I will try to be part of that process.”
