The DSEX, the benchmark index of the bourse, also witnessed a sharp rise, gaining 91.02 points or 1.70percent to close at 5,442.12, driven largely by a bullish rally in banking sector stocks.

Out of 394 issues traded, 150 advanced, 167 declined, and 77 remained unchanged. Notably, the banking sector played a pivotal role in today’s rally.
