Six missing in Kuakata trawler capsize

A fishing trawler named FB Sagarkanya sank in the turmoiled Bay of Bengal adjacent to Kuakata coast in Patuakhali.

After floating in the sea for 4 days, 9 fishermen were rescued by two other fishing trawlers.

However six fishermen named Abdur Rashid, Nazrul Islam, Rafiq, Idris, Harun and Kalam are missing till this report.
The injured fishermen were admitted to Kalapara Hospital in the early hours of Tuesday.

Earlier, the trawler sank at a depth of 75 kilometers in the last bend of the Bay of Bengal at around 10 am last Friday.

The rescued fishermen said that on Thursday morning, Abdur Rashid Majhi along with 15 fishermen sailed the trawler from Mohipur fishing port to the deep sea.

On Friday morning, after casting their nets 75 kilometers away from the last buoy, their trawler suddenly capsized and sank in a storm and strong waves of turmoiled bay.

One of them was lost. When 14 of them started floating with the help of bamboo and flutes, 5 more went missing in two batches.
