Six bodies remain unidentified, families asked to provide DNA samples
NN Online:
Six bodies from the recent jet crash remain unidentified at the CMH morgue, according to Professor Dr. Sayedur Rahman, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser.
Speaking on Tuesday, Dr. Rahman said DNA samples have been collected from the unidentified bodies under the supervision of Health Ministry specialists and will be processed at the CID laboratory.
He urged families of missing individuals—particularly those whose names are not on the official list of the deceased or injured—to visit the CID headquarters in Malibagh and provide DNA samples for matching.
A press release from the Ministry of Health stated that, so far, only one family of a missing person has come forward. Authorities stressed that confirming the remaining identities depends on receiving additional family samples and pledged to complete DNA matching as swiftly as possible.
